Sprout Out Loud! Working Bee # 1

*****
The Urban Plant Reclamation Ensemble (Sprout Out Loud!)is pleased to announce our first working bee of the season. This is the first of many activities that will be evolving seasonally.

WHEN:
Friday April 25th, 1-4pm // Saturday April 26th, 1-4pm

WHERE: (click on the title "Sprout Out Loud Meeting #1" to activate the link)
The middle of the CP field in between Henri-Julien and De Gaspé. Near the corner of St-Viateur and de Gaspé, you will see Jeans Jeans Jeans. Go through the chain link fence to your right. Past this fence and beyond is a tree in the middle of the field. There will be people there.

WHAT:
PREPPING THE GROUND (where the earth is exposed),INSTALLING RAIN BARRELS and SOWING FLOWER SEED and planting donated flowers and herbs along the fence.

WHY:
To encourage some colourful growth near the fence, for visual pleasure. To encourage more growth and human life in the field, and to continue to show the Arrondissement du Plateau Mont-Royal that people care about this meadow. (Development plans are still said to begin as of 2009-2010). As there is no water source in the field, the rain barrels are to ensure that the plants will get water when needed.

PLEASE BRING:
- Tools! hoes, rakes, trowels, and work gloves (if you have them, we will need them!), Sweaters or shorts(?), your favourite flower seeds (preferably something hearty and drought resistant).

A REQUEST:
We are in need of as many rain barrels as we can get, long chain (to secure the barrels to the fence) and a pick up truck to transport the barrels. Please contact Emily if you are able to help in any way. trancemissions@gmail.com. Questions are welcome too.
